Sports’ biggest rivalries and fans’ evolving interestAny episode involving a photo shoot on "The Bachelor" or "The Bachelorette" is immediately among the most entertaining. Therefore, it would be the understatement of the century to say that this was the most entertaining episode of the season thus far. We had jealousy, snow mantra parka, awkward moments, a weatherman in a speedo, and a guy who looked way too ready for an Old Spice commercial.
Frank gets going in the right direction
But first (quoting Julie Chen), we had an individual date with Frank — otherwise known as the "geeky writer guy that half of the show’s fans probably wrote off before the show even started". He and Ali Fedotowskifirst took off in an old-school convertible, only for the car to break down (proof that sometimes you can be too "old school").
However, they recovered! The two of them traveled out into Hollywood, where they met a chorus of paparazzi and a million people wanting photos with the new bachelorette (how romantic). Thankfully, there was a "surprise" around the corner — a romantic walk in front of the Hollywood Sign, where the two of them exchanged the first kiss of the season.
Did you really think at this point that Frank wouldn’t receive a rose? The show did its usual habit of not actually showing too much of the date’s personal conversation, instead focusing on the "you look beautifuls" and such. I really like the chemistry here between the two of them, since they appear to legitimately get along and enjoy each other’s company. I don’t know if they will have the physical chemistry just yet, salvatore ferragamo shoes, but it’s always tough to know that much early on in the show.
Then, things get (sort of) naked
Then, we had the group date — otherwise known as the highlight of the episode. It was here began one of the more epic fights of the course of the season — Craig M. vs. Jonathan (who Craig actually refuses to call him anything but "weatherman"). One of them is the hero, and the other is the know-it-all from science classes that interrupts you answer the questions.
I know there actually was a more developed source of the fight, but here’s how I like to interpret it — Jonathan didn’t like the fact that Craig M. has a glorious mane of brown hair, and Craig is jealous of the fact that Jonathan knows how to make great weather-related puns. That’s it.
Actually, vibram five fingers, that wasn’t it, and it was made a million times funnier when the guys all went to the beach for a "photo shoot for charity". The catch? They all had to wear embarrassingly small swimsuits. This provided even more great fodder for the Craig M. vs. Jonathan battle.
Craig: Looks like the guy in the Old Spice commercials. Look away, now back to me! Now look away! Now look back! Oh, it’s a rose! It’s not a rose! It’s some hair gel to make my hair even crispier! I’m on a horse.
Jonathan: Looks like he was left out into the sun too long and he shriveled up.
So onto the actual date. There were really only two major highlights of the evening in terms of Ali — Tyopened up about his past marriage, and also did the surefire thing in order to stick around in playing a guitar. (How was Ali not going to give him the rose after all of this?)
Then, there was "Rated R" Justin, who decided to use his status as the "house outcast" for sympathy. Strangely, tory burch shoes, though, Ali actually seems to be more attracted to him than anyone else on the show. Watch out, though — his edit has a Rozlyn smell to it (at least so far).
Viva Jesse
Jesse’s one-on-one turn with Ali ended up being a trip to Vegas, which had its own share of hits and misses. The hits? The two got the opportunity to ride in a fancy car and hit up Liquid in Vegas before Heidi Montag and her silicon accessories. The negative, though, was equally clear — this guy just wasn’t that interesting, even if he did get a rose in the end.
Regardless of how this date went in the end, I can’t see Jesse as the kind of guy who sticks around very long.
Craig vs. Jonathan II — the battle continues
Sure, there were some great moments in the mixer this time around — Chris L. and Roberto had some nice moments with Ali, and Frank professed how much he missed her while she was off with other guys.
However, it was really all about Craig and Jonathan all over again. The weatherman called Craig "dangerous" to Ali,christian louboutin evening, and after finding this out he went on some bizarre form of manhunt. Come on, Craig — you know who said it, so there’s no point continuing on with this.
The real problem with this here is just that neither guy is really focusing on Ali, so it’s hard to say who will stick around much longer.
